Things don't always work out as you plan

Yesterday we got up and headed to the beach. We had plans to spend a few hours, come home and spend the rest of the day at the park - oh and I was going to steam clean the living room.

The beach was fantastic! The water was a little cold early in the day but became very comfortable in the afternoon. The bad thing about going early is that you are ready to come home just as the water is getting to the right temp. The good thing about going early is that you actually can find a spot on the beach.

We arrived around 10:00 and left around 2:30. Both CAL and I commented on the way home that, even though we were out in the sun, we really didn't get sunburn too badly. I use the spray-on sunscreen and had only applied it once.

After arriving home both CAL and I changed our tunes. The front side of my shoulders is very painful and a little spot on his belly (that obviously didn't get sunscreen) is red. The funny part was I let Cal spray me with sunscreen, when I noticed how red I was in different areas, I told him that he was never allowed to do it again. Then...... Cal lifted his shirt to show me just how poorly I had applied the sunscreen to his body. It is amazing how quickly I can change my story.

After arriving home we had a little seafood for dinner, watched a little TV, and I was in bed by 8:00. I fell asleep within seconds and missed all fireworks that people in the neighborhood were shooting off. Oh well hopefully I will see a few tonight.

Pamibe posted a link a few weeks ago to a review of sun screen products. The expensive product I use is on their DO NOT USE IT WILL KILL YOU! list. It ranked high for sun protection, but since it's a spray on, it also ranks high for carcinogenic inhalation potential.
