With Gustav bearing down on New Orleans there are some people that have refused to leave. They are using the excuse that they do not have the "financial means" to leave. I don't understand how this can be the case when the government is evacuating these people. There are shelters set up all over the south for these people. You don't need money to stay in a shelter.
This also makes me wonder why insurance companies do not require an intelligence test before giving term life insurance quotes. Honestly these people, who have decided to stay, have no one to blame for their misfortune. Nor should anyone risk their lives to try to "rescue" them after the fact. There will be hundreds of deaths that will be blamed on Gustav.
The government has given plenty of warning to the citizens of NO. If you are going to live there you MUST have a plan in place.
