I have to be honest. My husband and I have very different tastes in movies. I usually can watch something from beginning to end whether it is bad or not. Hubby usually gives a movie 15 to 20 minutes and then he finds something better to do, or sits there and complains the entire time. Usually he just sits and complains.
We don't have that good of luck when we are picking movies out at Blockbuster. We do OK with the online selection but when we are looking at the cover we are usually sucked in and make bad choices.
This weekend was a rare weekend for us. We picked two VERY good movies. One we have already watched three times.
The first movie is Vantage Point. What a great movie. I loved the uniqueness. I noticed a few "loose ends" but I really enjoyed it. That is the movie that we have watched three times. Hubby and CAL are watching it again as I blog.
The second movie is Gone Baby Gone. Again a great movie. It was strange because about half way through I was sure that I had seen it before. I thought the beginning was going to be the Casey Anthony story. The language was VERY bad and so CAL cannot watch that one, otherwise I would be watching it again.
Now I must tell you about the most HORRIBLE movie that I have seen in a LONG time.
No Country For Old Men. I cannot believe how many awards and what positive feedback people gave this movie. It just proves to me what a bunch of wacko's live in this world. Do not waste your time. I am glad that I didn't spend any money on this movie. I would have demanded my money back. The main character of this movie must have killed about 15 people within the first hour of the movie. He was just getting warmed up. I didn't make it through the entire movie and I would be interested to hear what the finally body count was.
Have you seen any really good movies recently. Honestly the above two are the only two that I have seen that are worth talking about. I am amazed at how people get funding for these crap movies.

I hate to disagree with you, but No Country For Old Men was a great movie. I saw it in the theater and I bought the DVD. It is a great portrait of greed and how money truly can be a god to some people, who then risk everything worth while for the pursuit of money.
Brilliant movie.
Jason I think you are the ONLY one who saw that message. The producer/director didn't even see that. It was just a violent movie with no ties to real life. This guy has killed 15 people in the first 60 minutes and all he has is a retired cop from eastbumb looking for him.
I cannot believe that you wasted your money TWICE on this movie.
I bought this movie on blu-ray
You bought No Country for Old Men? What is wrong with you "Lukies"? Oh My Goodness, why in the world would you reward such stupidity by spending your hard earned money on such nonsense.
That does it. You are both grounded. You do not use your money wisely. Plus you encourage future CRAP like this.
**shaking head in disgust**
Well, in my defense, we buy tons of movies when they're on sale, whether or not we've seen them. So, the first time I saw it was after buying it.
the body count was high, but I've seen much worse movies. I can't really remember too much about it, actually. I wonder if I blogged about it?
