Cape Cod

My husband changes his background on his computer almost weekly. This week he has a picture of my son running in the waves in Cape Cod. I cannot tell you how much I miss The Cape.

In the past we have taken day trips, but it is hard (for us) to drive three hours home after spending a day in the sun and surf. We are not big drivers. As a matter of fact we have a Jeep Wrangler that is two years old and we only have 7500 miles. That is not much.

Anyway back to The Cape. We stay at a nice (for The Cape) hotel. This is not a hotel I would EVER stay at in a non-beach destination. They have a large indoor pool, it is close to the bike path, and we can walk to the beach. The problem is that it is expensive and not in our budget for anytime soon.

I thought about looking for other cheap hotels in the area but even a cheap hotel is out of our budget at this time.

Hopefully things will start to pick up around here and we will be able to get down there before the summer is over.

Perhaps gas wouldn't be $4 a gallon (as per your 5/31 post) if people like you didn't drive so many gas guzzling SUVs like a Jeep Wrangler.

Hypocritical much?

And feel free to enumerate all the other reasons gas is expensive. I know them, but let's face it...you can't point fingers when you're personally part of the problem.

MF193, Once again you have proved your inability to read. I have put 7500 miles on the Jeep in two years.

A gas guzzling SUV? A two door Jeep Wrangler? Does it get the best mileage no, but I would not put it in the same category as a gas guzzling SUV.

Wellllllll....let's look at some facts:

Assuming you have a 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler (and I'll even cut you slack and pick the less guzzling of the models) you get a combined fuel economy of 17 mpg or 16 city/19 hwy as rated by the EPA.

Comparably equipped other gas guzzlers include the Ford Explorer, Hummer H3, and Chevy Trailblazer. You fall nicely in the middle, so tell me another one.

I'm just saying, don't preach if you're also guilty. I can read, I just read more than the "good book."

MF193, you got me! You are 100% correct. You are "the man". Only you could look at my post about a family vacation and turn it into a complaint about the car I drive.

I have driven 7500 miles in two years. No matter how you look at it, a car that get 40MPG but drives 50K miles in a year is adding more pollution than my GAS GUZZLER.

Dang, I'd sure like to meet someone who drives 50k a year. They probably wouldn't have time though...too busy driving. (don't worry *sarcasm on*)

I think you missed my point. The problem (or beauty) of the net is that everything is traceable back, so if you make one point about something, everything else you say had better be consistent or someone will call you out on it. I've done that, now deal with it.

Your trip sounded very nice. I can't to move to Boston later this year. In the future, if you need a cheap hotel, try http://www.mobissimo.com

I know several people who drive 50K a a year. But even if the number was 20K I still pollute less so there.

I didn't miss your point but you may have missed mine. I have blogged several times that $4 gas does not bother me because I don't drive. I am dealing with you calling me out but if you are going to take one sentence on one post and make a case out of that it is not a very good case.

I don't know how you can accuse someone of being Hypocritical when I am not driving my "gas guzzler". I don't care what kind of MPG it gets because I don't drive anywhere.

If I could purchase a different car I would (oh heck no I wouldn't I love my Wrangler. They are so much fun with the top down)
