Wall Clocks, Mantel Clocks, Grandfather Clocks, Oh my!

If you have been reading my blog for long you know that I have a clock fetish. I have over 20 clocks hanging in this house right now.

I have several hanging on the walls that don’t even work. I love wall clocks, but my favorite type of clock would be the grandfather clocks. I have never been fortunate enough to actually own one.

Every year we go to The Big E. They always have several grandfather clock dealers and I spend a lot of time picking out just the right clock. My dream clock, the detail on this clock is unbelievable.

I currently have two cuckoo clocks, a huge outdoor clock hanging above my fireplace. It was just too nice to hang outside. I have a mini-grandfather clock hanging on the wall in the living room – this clock stopped working years ago but I just cannot take it down. I have a wall clock that has a display case built into the bottom of it. When CAL was little I had this displaying all his baby items. I have a clock that has a gold picture of the earth as the face. It is in this frame. Very hard to describe but it is beautiful. A few years ago my husband received a mantel clock for Christmas. This is his pride and joy. I could go on and on but I am sure you would be bored. We even have a clock for our Jeep hanging in the game room. Also hanging in the game room I have a clock that reminds me of the Ridgeway clocks that are on the www.1-800.4clocks.com site. Oh I also forgot I have three atomic clocks in the office, stock room, and living room.

I am not big on home décor or interior design but if you visit my house you see that clocks are my vice. I also notice that I am not the only one who goes a little crazy over grandfather clocks. There is a blog that is devoted to this subject. I wish my family had thought about the idea of a grandfather clock as a heirloom, instead they have a nice gun collection that they just cannot wait to give me. Yes you read that right. I hope my father lives forever just so I don’t have to deal with his “gift”.
