When I made my blog public, I did so that I could start earning money off blogging. It has been an uphill battle ever since. There have been many obstacles so far but I know that once the wrinkles are ironed out it will go fine.
One of the problems that I have run into is finding enough people who actually want to read what I have to say. I started out with blogspot but it is more difficult to spread the “news” about your blog. Another problem with blogspot is that most of the companies that are willing to pay you to post want you to have your own site. I made the move to buy my own domain but making the changes with everyone was an experience.
The person who got me started on this blog thing WritersBlock (I am sure she has regretted it ever since). She has a really nice blog that I hope someday to “copy”. She uses Wordpress. Ideally what I would like to do is pay someone to design my site. Unfortunately I have to be making more money than I am off the blog to do that. The catch 22, I need more readers but that will cost me money, but I need to make more money in order to attract more readers.
When I have saved enough I think I am going to have Mediawick design a Custom Blog Design wordpress site for me. Right now would be a great time to sign up because they have a $300 wordpress design promo going. I was very impressed with their site and their work. I read about 50 to 100 sites over a week period and have seen many different designs. The blogs they have in their portfolio are awesome. I am sure that I could attract more readers if my site looked more professional.
