We live about 30 miles from the beach. During the summer we try to go as often as possible. Wallis Sands Beach in New Hampshire is a great place because it has the restroom/shower/store right at the park. I don't know about you but, I have to take a shower after being at the beach all day. I cannot even wait the 45 minutes to get home.
I don't think life gets any better than taking your family, a couple chairs, the sirius, a boogie board, a football, and bikes to the beach for the day. The waves are so relaxing. Wallis Sands can get pretty busy at times but you just move across the jetty and it has miles of huge quite beaches.

I'm with you going to the beach. The Hubby and I love Misquamicut in Rhode Island; it's barely an hour for us and it's such an escape.
We love the beach SO much that we go there in the wintertime. Yup - as long as it's sunny out, we'll bundle up, pack a picnic lunch, take our beach chairs and blanket - as if it was a summer day.
It's perfect.
