OK the wait is over

OK, I hope that VW Bug is not eating breakfast right now.
This is a hairball that was removed from an eighteen year old's stomach. It weighs 10 pounds.
Did she eat a cat? You know **singing - I know an old lady that swallowed a cat, imagine that she swallowed a cat **
No, it seems that this charming young lady liked to feast on her own hair.
The official name of this object is a bezoar. Her condition is call trichophagia. If you are interested in learning more....... You can click here and read the entire article.
When I first saw this article I thought that is one big cat poo. In reality that is what it is.
This also made me remember.....
When CAL was in preschool, we had to go pick him up during the day and take him to a different school for his speech. There was another child that had speech the same time CAL did. His mother would sit out with us and we would all chat. She also had a little girl. This little girl would pull her (the mother's hair) hair out and then wrap it around her little fingers and suck on it. I thought how strange. It was so weird to see this little girl grab a handful of her mother's hair and yank. Mom didn't seem to mind.
We took CAL for the entire school year. Towards the end of the year the mother decided (probably because we made comments) that it was time for the little girl to stop pulling her hair out. The next week she came and the little girl was almost bald. The mother made her stop pulling her hair so the girl starting pulling her own. She had pulled all her hair out in just a week. I gasped when I saw her and the mother said "I know doesn't she look horrible" and was on the verge of tears. The speech teacher (a much older lady) came out and noticed the little girl and demanded that she take her to the doctors immediately. It was so scary.
When we returned to school in the fall this little girl started attending CAL's preschool (we gave it such rave reviews that the mother enrolled her) The little girl had a Sinead O'Connor haircut. Months later she was still pulling her hair, when it was long enough so their solution was to cut it so short that she could not pull it out.
After seeing this article I wonder if she has stopped. She would be about 7 or 8 years old now.
