I will be the first to admit it..... I am a New England Sports NUT. I love the Red Sox. I try to watch them everyday. I will check the "standings" first thing every morning. If I cannot stay up for a game, I will check how they did in the middle of the night when I do wake up. It makes my husband so mad that I turn the TV on at 3 a.m. to check the score. I feel so empty when the Sox have a day off. I am weird. I am a die HARD Sox fan. I am not a fan of baseball. I have no interest in watching other teams play. Just my Red Sox.
The same can be said regarding the Patriots. My husband and I have actually fought over the Pats. I love them and don't you dare say anything bad about them. He likes the Pats but he has never been a fan of Tom Brady. He has been a fan of the Colts since childhood. Well this house is a Pats house and you will not ROOT for anyone other than the Pats. Last year I became so upset with my husband I was on the verge of tears. He was rooting for the Colts. It is not a joke, I cannot handle it. I don't love the players individually. If they want to play for another team, fine go. I hate Drew Bledsoe. I NEVER liked him. It drove me nuts to see him run the team week after week.
Now my problem. Cheating. I hate cheating. I also hate hypocrites (which I am sure I am one more than I would like to admit) I just don't think I can root for the Pats this year. I think their punishment is a joke. I think they should have to forfeit their game with the Jets, Belichick should be suspended for the entire season, and the Patriots should have to reimburse their fans (season ticket holders) for the season. Some of you will not understand, but this is a real problem for me.
I am glad that I only have issues with baseball and football. Basketball is a hoodlum sport and I have no interest. Hockey is the worst of all. It is not a sport. It is an excuse for grown men to beat up on each other.

I was going to blog about this today, but I'll just leave my thoughts here.
See, I don't get the controversy. And I may be wrong here, since I do not follow sports. At all. But don't coaches study recordings of their rival teams to study their plays? How is that different than trying to see what plays the coach might be calling on the sideline? I don't see it as cheating to try to anticipate the opponent's move and plan accordingly.
As I understand it, there was some guy video-ing the opposing team. It was not a case of closed circuit tv or something that would enable to Pats coach to immediately know what the opposing team was calling. What's the big deal?
Are you telling me that no other teams have one or more people trying to take a peek over to the other team to try to discern what plays they are calling?
It looks like I have some reading to do. I have no clue what is going on! Its that frickin' rock I live under...
