- Eric Gange - This guy could be the reason we do not win the Division. He has single-handedly lost four to five games.
- Jonathon Papelbon - I am sure some of you will be surprised to see him on this list. How could someone who has a record of 35 out of 38? Well the Sox treat this kid like a baby. Come on, he pitched 20 pitches the other night and then they said he would not be available for a couple days. 20 pitches and then he needs to take a couple days rest. Papelbon needs to grow up, this is the BIGS.
- J.D Drew - If this a Trot Nixon replacement they failed miserably. This guy is no Trot Nixon.
- Kevin Youkilis - He is doing pretty good this year and my complaint....... His temper. He argues EVERYTHING. He throws his bat, helmet, and anything else he can get his hands on. We all like to see emotion (something J.D Drew lacks) but Youkilis is just a poor sport.
- Jason Varitek - He has to hold the record for making the most third outs. If he comes up to bat with two outs..... it's a done deal. He will be out number three. I love Varitek as a catcher. I think he calls a game like no other. BUT he needs to work on his offense.
- Daisuke Matsuzaka - This is my vote for biggest disappointment. Not because he has done that poorly but..... because they Sox made him sound like he was going to be unbeatable with his Gyro Ball. We spent 50 million just to talk to this joker. His agent made the sale of the century and the stupid Sox bought it hook, line, and sinker. Now we will pay the price. He will not pitch well in the playoffs.
Now onto the guys that have been a pleasure for me to watch
- Mike Lowell - I think he is my favorite player. He is a good mix (personality wise) between J.D Drew and Kevin Youkilis. You rarely see him argue and he is a great sport. He also plays with determination.
- Coco Crisp - After his disappointing show last year Coco rebounded. He is an excellent replacement for Johnny Demon. You feel very comfortable with him in center field. When a ball is hit to Manny you hold your breath and hope. With Coco you head to the kitchen for a snack.
- Dustin Pedroia - What can be said for this guy. He is the best second baseman that the Sox have had in the past 17 years. Frankly I don't think we have had a guy like this since a young Nomar. I love him. He is very dependable on both offense and defense. Dustin Pedroia is my second favorite Sox.
- Jacoby Ellsbury - The new guy on the block. I would really like to rate him after a full season but he has been what we have needed. He has put a spark back into the sox. As much as Gange could be the reason for our defeat, Ellsbury could be the reason we win it all.
