Poor Man's Entertainment

READING. That is all I have done this summer. I like to read but this summer I have read more than ever.

I just finished the following three books.

Two Hot Dogs with Everything. by Paul Haven. This is a Great Stone Face Book. I wanted to read this in an attempt to encourage my son to read. He is on page 579 of Eldest I am very proud of him, but he is taking forever.

The Mustang Breaker. by Stephen Bly. Good book. This is the second in a series.

My Son, the Savior. by Melody Carlson. I am NOT knowledgeable about religious things. I know what I believe is true and I am very content with that. This book is a fiction book. But I really enjoyed the book. I learned a lot and now I am having my husband read the book to see if he agrees with what is written. There were a few things that I disagreed with, they have portrayed Mary Magdalene as a rich woman. I don't think I agree with this. The one thing that this book does do however, is show that Mary was just a human. One that in no way shape or form should be worshiped. This is a book that EVERY Catholic should read.

Now I have to start another Great Stone Face Book. I want to read as many as possible before school starts that way I can talk to the kids about them.
